Welcome to the Generalist World Code of Conduct. This is an evolving document intended to clearly outline the expectations of our members, as well as what to do if there’s a breach.
Code of conduct – Generalist World
Be Honest, Not Self-Promotional
To keep the quality of our community high, we do not allow unsolicited self-promotion.
Not allowed:
- Promoting your products, services, or offerings without being asked
- Sharing blog posts or content primarily to drive traffic to yourself
- Asking members to like, follow, or boost your social media posts
Allowed:
- Linking to your work in your introduction post — this is a fair and welcome way to share what you’re working on
- Sharing tools or products you genuinely use and find helpful
- Asking for feedback or input on something you’re building (please don’t abuse this)
If you’re unsure whether something counts as self-promotion, ask a community admin before posting.
