😌 What is a calm community?

Chances are you’re already a part of multiple online communities. In which case, you probably already know the feeling of noise, overwhelm and spam. We’ve designed GW around the concept of a calm community. A space that brings comfort. Where people are friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and supportive. Where the focus isn’t on growing as big and fast as we can. But where every single person matters.

Imagine it’s a little something like this:

👉🏽 What does it mean in practice?

Nice theory, but what does it mean in practice? Great question! We can sum it up with a few simple principles.

Our careers ebb and flow. Some days, you might really need support. Many days, you won’t. You never have to apologise for not showing up enough, for not being active or for not contributing as much as others.

Depending on your season, there will be a different reason you’re hoping to find in community.

Of course, whenever you can - come along, join in, contribute, learn and share. And on the times that life is busy enough, that’s totally okay.

GW memberships run yearly. We keep it this way on purpose. By knowing that everyone is committed for the longer term, we can form deeper relationships. We can make way for vulnerability and trust. We know that we truly belong.

There are a bunch of places you can go online to promote your stuff. This isn’t one of them. We’re all getting sold to any time we open our laptops. By keeping the community promo-free, we make room for better conversations. We raise the trust between each other, knowing that there’s no ulterior motives. And let’s be honest, it’s just really refreshing to not have to mentally sort through what’s sales and what’s valuable.
